Atlanta DWM Celebrates Drinking Water Week

Beginning today, the Atlanta Department of Watershed Management (DWM) will recognize National Drinking Water Week in an effort to promote water conservation and to encourage residents to drink tap water. The American Water Works Association (AWWA) has celebrated National Drinking Water Week for more than 35 years.

In February, Sens. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) and Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) introduced legislation, S. 2606, the Sustainable Water Infrastructure Investment Act to spur capital investment and to ensure the reliability and safety of the nation’s water infrastructure. Reps. Bill Pascrell (D-N.J.) and Jimmy Duncan (R-Tenn.) have also introduced the same bill in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Since the conversion of its foundry to lead-free operations in 2001, Neptune Technology Group has produced nearly 32 million lead-free bronze alloy meters that have proven themselves in the field. These lead-free meters have met NSF/ANSI 61, Annex F standards for lead performance, NSF 372 for lead content, and the most recent Safe Drinking Water Act regulations.
