Water Finance Conference returning to Washington, D.C., in August

Registration now open for 8th annual event; Early bird registration ends July 15

The eighth annual Water Finance Conference will be returning to the nation’s capital this summer, Aug. 17-18, 2022, at the Hilton Washington DC Capitol Hill Hotel. The agenda will be released in the coming weeks and registration is now open.

The Water Finance Conference convenes executive-level utility professionals, including directors, superintendents, CEOs, CFOs and finance managers, along with consultants, financial advisors, legal professionals and service providers involved in financing municipal water, wastewater and stormwater systems. The event is hosted annually by the journal Water Finance & Management, published by Benjamin Media, and in partnership with main event sponsor, the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA). The conference has been held virtually for the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic and is returning to an in-person format this year.

Presenters at the Water Finance Conference generally include a mix of drinking water/clean water utility finance officers (CFOs), general managers, association representatives, municipal advisors/consultants, EPA officials and service providers. Presenters and panelists have also included city and county finance managers, current and former mayors and city councilmembers, and other consultants and service providers who have a vested interest in the funding of water infrastructure in the United States. The conference features presentations, panel discussions and networking – all in the heart of water policymaking in the U.S. capital.

The Water Finance Conference has been growing in popularity at a steady clip since its establishment in 2015 as the only conference that exclusively covers financing specifically for the drinking and clean water utility sector. This year the conference is sure to cover allocation and distribution of Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act funding, financing amid evolving regulation for water quality issues (Lead and Copper Rule, PFAS, etc.) as well as ever-important topics of affordability, rate setting, capital planning and more.

The early bird registration deadline is July 15. CEUs will be available for an additional cost. In addition to NACWA, the 2022 Water Finance Conference is sponsored by Main Event Sponsor Stantec, along with Mueller, SL Environmental Law Group, and Wade Trim. Please contact Maura Bourquin about sponsor information.

The conference is being held at the Hilton Washington DC Capitol Hill, just a short walk from the U.S. Capitol and minutes from Washington Union Station. For additional information, conference details are available at waterfinanceconference.com where the agenda will be updated regularly.
