WATCH: Why the water sector is calling for LSL replacement

As part of the virtual 2022 Water Asset Management Conference, WF&M hosted a panel discussion on lead service line rehabilitation, analyzing the requirements under the revised Lead and Copper Rule (LCRR) and the biggest challenges for utilities. Specifically, on the replacement part of LCRR, the U.S. EPA and AWWA are calling for complete removal of all lead service lines. But is replacement the only option for utilities? Who is responsible for addressing lead lines on private property? What authority do states have in how they address lead service lines?

Panelists:

  • Alan Roberson, P.E., Executive Director, Association of State Drinking Water Administrators
  • Grant Whittle, Technical Director, NuFlow
  • Jeff Tanner, President & CTO, Flow-Liner Systems, Ltd.

This panel was originally recorded on May 25, 2022, as part of the 2022 Water Asset Management Conference.
