StratComm to highlight ratepayer relations, outreach in Chicago

On June 6-7 in Chicago, the National Association of Clean Water Agencies will host Strategic Communications: H2O (StratComm), an event geared toward engaging public utility officials on best practices in ratepayer communication, public relations and outreach.

The purpose of StratComm is to help clean water utilities innovate — or create — communications platforms that can proactively advance a utility’s goals and initiatives, and not merely react to events and external challenges. Join us as we share expert strategies, resources and peer-to-peer solutions from some of the best water sector communicators in the country and come away with concrete action plans to improve your platform and grow your nationwide network.

In today’s rapidly evolving water landscape, building a proactive communications platform is no longer an option. A utility’s communication program, or lack of one, directly impacts its relationship with ratepayers and the public; stakeholders and governing bodies; legislators and regulators; and even its own managers and employees — all of which impact the utility’s bottom line and long-term viability.

StratComm will present expert strategies, resources and peer-to-peer solutions from some of the best water sector communicators in the United States. Attendees will come away with concrete action plans to improve your platform, and grow their nationwide network.

Whether innovating a platform or building a new one, discovering new tactics or developing messages, planning a campaign or preparing for crisis, StratComm: H2O can help drinking and clean water utilities develop the best practices necessary for strategic long-term change and growth.

StratComm will be held June 6-7, 2018 in downtown Chicago at the Palmer House Hilton. StratComm will feature a high-value agenda with focused sessions that will address the all-important ratepayer relationship. Media outreach, digital strategy and crisis communications, are also on the agenda for this year’s event. StratComm 2018 is presented by the National Association of Clean Water Agencies and sponsored by Jacobs Engineering Group and Water Finance & Management.
