At a meeting of its board of directors, the National Clay Pipe Institute (NCPI) announced that Jeff Boschert has been promoted to president of the organization.
Boschert has been a field engineer with NCPI since 2004, joining the organization after eight years with the Missouri Department of Transportation. He has served as the leader of trenchless initiatives and has become a leading expert in the field of pilot tube microtunneling, representing the organization on various committees and professional organizations.
Boschert has bachelor?s degree in civil engineering from the University of Missouri at Rolla and is a registered professional engineer, licensed in Missouri.
?This is just one part of an ongoing initiative for NCPI,? said Dick Brandt, Chairman of the Board for NCPI and president of The Logan Clay Products Company in Ohio. ?Municipalities are rediscovering vitrified clay pipe and we?re conducting an active outreach program to inform the engineering community about the solid reasons behind the shift.?
Boschert replaces Mike VanDine who has left the organization to pursue other opportunities. NCPI is a technical resource for sewer system managers and designers of gravity sewer lines.?The organization performs research and conducts educational outreach to the engineering community based on the experience of the longest-serving pipe product still in use today.?Vitrified clay is the only pipe product that has been independently certified as sustainable to the triple bottom line (economic, environmental and social).
