AWWA CEO LaFrance to deliver keynote at 2026 Water Finance Conference

American Water Works Association (AWWA) CEO David LaFrance will be on hand to deliver an opening keynote at the 2026 Water Finance Conference in Denver, Colorado, Aug. 4-5, at the University of Denver.

At AWWA, LaFrance leads a global organization of 50,000 members dedicated to creating a better world through better water. Headquartered in Denver, he oversees a staff of approximately 150 across AWWA’s Denver and Washington, D.C., offices, guiding the association’s extensive scientific, educational and public policy efforts in support of professionals throughout North America and around the world.

As the former chief financial officer at Denver Water, LaFrance is the ideal water pro to kick off the Water Finance Conference, with a planned talk on the utility finance goals in AWWA’s Water2050 initiative. LaFrance will also touch on current, regional challenges like water resource planning amid drought, as well as AWWA’s new ‘Beyond the Replacement Era’ report and workforce development.

The highly popular Water Finance Conference was established in 2015 and provides an exclusive forum for candid discussion around financing in the municipal water utility sector. The event is hosted annually by the journal Water Finance & Management, published by Benjamin Media, Inc., in collaboration with founding sponsor, the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) and other supporters and sponsors.

Registration is now open. Please visit waterfinanceconference.com to register and to view the working agenda.
