Xylem Inc. recently ran a wastewater operator recertification class at its Indianapolis branch.
The course, Sewer Collection System Reliability, earned participants four continuing education units. It covered a range of topics, including portable pump usage in collection systems, temporary bypass system design, permanent installations, basic pump hydraulics and sustained high efficiency pumping.
?We are well-known for our Godwin and Flygt pumps; this was an opportunity to also share some of our knowledge behind the products,? said Xylem training coordinator Peter Snow. ?It was great to engage operators and offer ourselves as a technical resource.?
Due to positive response, Xylem is planning to lead additional courses in the future focused on wastewater and dewatering.
