UESI Pipelines 2020 cancelled, moving to virtual format

As a consequence of the impact of COVID-19 and based on feedback from members, and former and potential attendees, the Utility Engineering and Surveying Institute (UESI) and the Pipelines 2020 Conference Steering Committee have reached the difficult decision to cancel the in-person program scheduled for Aug. 9-12 in San Antonio, Texas.

UESI is collectively working together with the conference speakers, sponsors, exhibitors and suppliers to transform UESI Pipelines 2020 into a virtual delivery. A date for this virtual event is yet to be finalized.

“We embrace this opportunity to provide you with an experience that will allow you to continue to be engaged and stay connected with your peers via a different platform accessible at the click of a button,” said Diane Swecker, UESI director.

Further information regarding the mechanics of the virtual event and technical content access along with dates, times, and how UESI plans to create networking opportunities with exhibitors and sponsors will be provided in the upcoming weeks. Instructions and guidelines for the Pipelines 2020 speakers, moderators and track chairs are forthcoming.

“We are counting on your participation in the virtual program as we are generating a new platform-appropriate pricing and an updated registration link will be provided,” Swecker said.

Those who already registered for the in-person event and would like to participate in the virtual event must contact registrations@asce.org by July 1. UESI will apply the difference towards their new registration.

If you are unable to attend online and UESI has not heard from the registrant by July 1, their registration will be fully re-funded via the initial form of payment and no action is required.
