Tom Iseley Speaking at Trenchless Technology Conference in China

Dr. Tom Iseley, clinical professor and director of construction engineering management technology at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), will speak at a pre-conference workshop for the China Hong Kong Society for Trenchless Technology (CHKSTT) conference in March.

The pre-conference workshop will be held on March 5 as part of the International Conference and Exhibition for Innovations in Trenchless Technology, taking place March 6-7 in Hong Kong. The focus of the one-day workshop will be on innovative technologies for drainage and sewerage inspection and trenchless rehabilitation works. The workshop will be held at the Chiang Chen Studio Theatre at Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Tom Iseley is a world-class leader in the pipeline and trenchless technology industry and has more than 35 years of experience in the planning, design and construction of underground infrastructure systems. He is a founding director of the North American Society for Trenchless Technology (NASTT) and served for three years as the chairman of the National Utility Contractors Association?s (NUCA) Trenchless Technology Committee. In 1993, he was named Trenchless Technology magazine?s Person of the Year. More recently, Iseley, as president of the Buried Asset Management Institute-International (BAMI-I), has worked to promote CTAM, a series of online courses for the Certification of Training in Asset Management developed in conjunction with IUPUI and in partnership with UIM.

The purpose of the upcoming CHKSTT pre-conference workshop is to provide delegates and attendees with an understanding of how pipeline inspections are an essential component of proactively managing drainage and sewerage assets. The workshop will also describe how to utilize pipeline condition assessment data to the selection of trenchless solutions and will provide details on innovative trenchless repair and renewal technologies.

The workshop is aimed at anyone working for the utility companies, government departments or consultants and contractors wishing to be involved in the major programs of extension and rehabilitation. Young engineers wishing to gain an introduction to these new technologies for installing, repairing and maintaining underground utility services are also invited to attend.
