RJN Group Provides Design Services on Two Design-Build Projects

Two design-build projects were awarded to RJN Group, Inc. (RJN) in late 2011.? The two projects are both contractor-led sewer relocation projects, driven by redevelopment efforts in St. Louis, Mo., and Southwestern Illinois.

The first design-build project is located in downtown St. Louis and involves storm sewer relocation for the Abrams Federal Building. Roof drains, terrace drains and interior storm piping systems were re-routed to accommodate construction of a new entrance to the underground parking garage.? The new system was then connected to existing St. Louis MSD facilities in the street.

The second design-build project is located in East St. Louis, Ill., and involves storm and sanitary sewer relocation as part of the construction of the New Mississippi River Bridge. Illinois Department of Transportation construction of relocated highways required the sewers of the Polarville Cold Storage Warehouse to be re-sized and re-routed to new storm and sanitary trunk sewers on the opposite side of the Polarville property.

RJN is acting as the design firm for both projects, with RJN?s Chad Janson, P.E. serving as the Design Project Manager.? Bi-State Utilities Company, a full service licensed and bonded contractor, located in Bridgeton, Mo., is acting as contractor and lead firm on both projects.
