RJN Group Begins Work on Phased SSES for City of Jonesboro

In June, RJN Group, Inc. (RJN) began work on Phase 1 of a multi-phased Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Survey (SSES) for City Water and Light (CWL) in Jonesboro, Ark. During Phase 1, RJN will be locating sewer defects within two sewersheds in the sanitary sewer collection system.

To locate the defects, RJN will be performing flow monitoring, infiltration/inflow (I/I) analysis, smoke testing, manhole inspections and dye water flood testing. Seven flow meters will be installed, maintained and calibrated by RJN field technicians. Smoke testing will be done on about 125,000 linear ft of pipe and 522 manholes will be inspected.?

To further determine the location and magnitude of the defects, 30 dye water flood tests will be carried out. CWL will have access to RJN Online giving them the ability to access field data as it is being collected (i.e. inventory data, condition ratings, photographs, etc.). This will allow RJN and CWL to discuss and review findings and identify issues and concerns while the project is ongoing.

City Water and Light provides Jonesboro, Ark. citizens with electric, water and sewer services.? RJN will submit the Phase 1 report in December 2012.
