Raftelis acquires Novak Consulting Group

Raftelis has announced it has acquired The Novak Consulting Group (TNCG), expanding Raftelis’ financial and management consulting offerings into local government functions, including police, fire, recreation and transportation.

“Over the past several years, our two firms have developed a strong relationship and we have great respect for TNCG’s work in the local government market,” said Peiffer Brandt, president and CEO of Raftelis. “Together we share a passion for delivering lasting solutions for public-sector organizations. I am excited to combine the staff expertise of both firms to provide added value and additional capabilities for our clients’ benefit.”

Raftelis has also brought utility finance expert Mike on to its team to enhance the firm’s local government financial planning practice. Raftelis said Burton has been a leader nationally, and particularly in Florida, in providing financial consulting services to utilities and local government agencies for many years.

“Mike will not only help Raftelis enhance our local government financial planning practice, but he will also provide valuable insights from his many years of experience running a successful rate consulting business,” said Brandt.

Raftelis is a financial, management and strategic communications consulting practice that exclusively serves water, wastewater, and stormwater utilities, as well as municipalities nationwide. Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Raftelis began in 1993 under the leadership of George Raftelis, a CPA formerly with Ernst & Young. In 1996, Raftelis began co-publishing with AWWA, its biennial Water and Wastewater Rate Survey. In 2005, Raftelis consultants authored the third edition of the book Water and Wastewater Finance and Pricing: A Comprehensive Guide, which has become an industry standard in the field of utility rate setting and has also been used as a textbook in college courses on environmental finance.

In 2014, Raftelis became a Registered Municipal Advisor with the MSRB and SEC. Raftelis provides services to hundreds of municipal agencies across the country, serving more than 25 percent of the U.S. population. Learn more at raftelis.com.
