PEOPLE: Haley & Aldrich Announces New Leadership Team

Haley & Aldrich, one of the nation?s leading geotechnical and environmental engineering consulting firms, announced the promotions of Lawrence P. Smith, P.E., R.G., to President/CEO and William R. Fisher, P.E., to Executive Vice President/Chief Client Officer. Smith and Fisher join current Vice President/Chief Financial Officer, Glen M. Elias, CPA, MBA, to complete Haley & Aldrich?s new executive leadership team.

Smith is the company?s seventh President/CEO. He joined Haley & Aldrich for the second time in 1985 as a hydrogeologist and, after a series of promotions and career achievements, was named Executive Vice President/COO in December 2004. Since joining the firm, Smith served as an advisor to Fortune 100 industrial clients on environmental portfolio management and remedial strategy. Beginning in 2004, he instituted the Leadership Training program for new generations of Haley & Aldrich leaders, to ensure a sustainable basis of sound business principles and corporate citizenship for the company?s next 50 years.

?I am optimistic about our future because of our people,? said Smith. ?Through their dedication to deeply understanding what our clients need, and their delivery of the exceptional value necessary to enable our clients? success, we will differentiate Haley & Aldrich in the marketplace and make our world a better place. It is a distinct honor for me to lead and support such a great group of people.?

Smith takes over the role of President/CEO from the retiring Bruce E. Beverly, P.E., F.ASCE, who served in that capacity from 2000 to 2010. Haley & Aldrich experienced record revenue growth in the 10 years under Beverly, who refocused the company following its regional geographic expansion to become a national consulting firm organized around markets and clients.

Fisher is the new Executive Vice President/Chief Client Officer. Fisher joined Haley & Aldrich in 2003 as a Vice President and environmental engineer. Fisher has led the company?s focused expansion into the electric and gas utilities market, assisting clients and communities in developing comprehensive strategies to address legacy environmental issues.

Elias joined Haley & Aldrich in 2008 as Vice President/Chief Financial Officer. He is instrumental in analyzing issues of strategic financial importance to the company and integrating industry best management practices into our finance and accounting function. Elias was inducted into the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Business and Industry Hall of Fame in 2003.
