OC San names new director of finance

The Orange County Sanitation District (OC San) in Fountain Valley, Calif., has announced Wally Ritchie has been selected as its new director of finance. Ritchie officially begin his position on April 7.

“I am honored and excited to have been selected as the new Director of Finance. I look forward to continue working with the staff, management, and Board of Directors at OC San,” said Ritchie.

As the new director of finance, Ritchie will be responsible for providing oversight to OC San’s accounting and treasury, procurement and warehousing, and information technology functions. Prior to his promotion, he served as controller for four years.

“Wally has been a valuable member of the Finance team since day one, I know he will excel in his new role. His experience is perfectly suited for what OC San needs,” said Lorenzo Tyner, OC San Assistant General Manager.

Ritchie has nearly 15 years of government finance and administration experience and a bachelor’s and a master’s degrees from Pepperdine University. Prior to joining OC San, Wally served as the Director of Finance/Assistant City Manager for the City of Ivins in Utah. Additionally, he has worked as a director of finance, controller and city manager.

OC San is a public agency that provides wastewater collection, treatment, and recycling for approximately 2.6 million people in central and northwest Orange County, California. OC San is a special district that is governed by a 25- member Board of Directors composed of 20 cities, four special districts, and one representative from the Orange County Board of Supervisors. OC San has two operating facilities that treat wastewater from residential, commercial, and industrial sources.
