The Water Environment Federation (WEF), a not-for-profit, nonpartisan organization providing water professionals with the latest in education and training, recently announced that Jammin’4Water will join the WEF events portfolio as the signature community benefit event leading into WEFTEC.

Born from a spontaneous jam session among WEFTEC attendees, Jammin’4Water (J4W) has grown from hotel lobby beginnings into a beloved WEFTEC gathering, uniting water professionals for a night of music, camaraderie, and purpose.

By blending live performance with a mission to improve global water quality, J4W has become a powerful platform for collaboration and impact. Since its inception, J4W has raised more than $650,000 for global water charities.

“I’ve personally participated in the event for many years and am excited to keep the spirit of Jammin’4Water going strong into the future,” said Ralph Exton, WEF executive director. “By welcoming Jammin’4Water into the WEF family and our official events lineup, we’re preserving a volunteer-powered tradition and will help the event reach more people, and drive even greater impact for global water charities.”

Jammin’4Water is about more than just the stage, it’s about the people who show up year after year with their talent, their time and their commitment to water.

“Our sponsors, musicians and volunteers built J4W into an event many of us look forward to all year,” said Dave Kinnear, Jammin’4Water founder. “Their passion creates a powerful musical experience for attendees while advancing global access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene. I am proud that J4W unites water professionals through music.”

“I enjoy working with the WEF community to produce Jammin’4Water,” said Lorene Bruns, who directs the pleasant chaos of the rehearsal and J4W stage management, and is interim chair of the volunteer committee. “Although we all attend WEFTEC to contribute to water quality, an initial night of music and community complements all the WEFTEC events. I know of many professional and personal relationships began with common musical interests uncovered through the J4W experience.”

WEF will welcome the Jammin’4Water volunteer community into its broader volunteer community to steer the event going forward, and help shape the program to ensure the event’s spirit endures and its charitable reach expands in alignment with WEF’s mission.

The next Jammin’4Water is slated for the Saturday evening of WEFTEC in New Orleans on Sept. 26, 2026. Visit WEF social channels for additional details as event plans unfold.
