The International Private Water Association (IPWA) will?hold a Financial Tools Taskforce meeting via?conference call on July 31 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. (EST). The focus of the meeting and two presentations will be on water initiatives emulating out of Singapore.?

The first presentation will be made by a senior representative?from Singapore’s PUB, the national water agency. As?the national water agency,?PUB is responsible for the collection, production, distribution and reclamation of water in Singapore.?Essentially, PUB is responsible for the entire water loop in Singapore, and PUB has become a global leader?when it comes to water re-use and water desalination. PUB also serves as the government host?authority for Singapore International Water Week. The next Singapore International Water Week will take place in early June 2014. For?the first time since Singapore International Water Week was launched, there will be a?U.S. Pavilion in 2014.

The second presentation will be made by a senior representative from Sembcorp. Headquartered in Singapore, Sembcorp Industries is a worldwide leading energy, water and marine group operating across six continents. With total assets of over $13 billion, Sembcorp is a trusted provider of essential energy and water solutions to both industrial and municipal customers. It is also a world leader in marine and offshore engineering as well as an established brand name in urban development. The company’s proactive visionary water initiatives can be found in Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, China, the UAE, South Africa, the UK, Chile, Panama and the Caribbean. It is useful to remember that in 2010, Sembcorp purchased Cascal from BiWater which significantly expanded the company’s?water-related operations.
