Business clusters are effective models for technology-based economic development. Business clusters are dense networks consisting of large and small?businesses, academia,?local governments as well as state and federal government?divisions plus other support groups.?In recent years, there has been a global movement to specifically establish clusters in different countries and regions of the world to support the growth, development and implementation of water technologies.?There are water clusters evolving in the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia.
?
This taskforce meeting will include presentations by several senior representatives from select water clusters ? Singapore, Belgium, the United States and Canada. The discussion/dialogue?will be led by a senior representative from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
?
It should be a very interesting collection of presentations given the growing role of water clusters around the world as?vehicles to support the expansion and adoption of water technologies in all countries around the world, and to support comprehensive dialogues among companies and countries when it comes to critical water and wastewater issues.
