Gannett Fleming names new construction manager for water/wastewater

Global infrastructure and engineering firm Gannett Fleming has appointed Thomas Pursel, P.E., as its Northeast Region Construction Services Area Manager for water/wastewater.

“Tom has demonstrated his dedication to Gannett Fleming and a high-performance mindset continuously for 25 years,” reflected Paul D. Nowicki, PE, president and chief operating officer. “The growth potential for our construction services portfolio in the Northeast is substantial. In his new role, Tom will develop and execute the water/wastewater construction services business plan, focusing his efforts on business development, driving revenue, and enhancing the Gannett Fleming brand.”

Pursel has worked on and supervised field personnel for numerous award-winning projects, including the Newtown Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant, the City of Lebanon Authority Wastewater Treatment Plant, and the Tempe Town Lake Downstream Dam Replacement. Pursel has a specialized background in construction services for dams and will continue to collaborate with the Earth Sciences Global Business Line to assist with growth, business development, and project execution nationwide.

Pursel earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Lehigh University. He holds a PE in New York, the District of Columbia, Florida, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Virginia. Pursel has affiliations with the American Water Works Association, the Water Environment Federation, and the Association of State Dam Safety Officials.
