Gallagher Named Water Design-Build Council President

Last month, the Water Design-Build Council (WDBC) officially welcomed Pat Gallagher as the organization?s president for 2013. Gallagher, a vice president at CDM Smith, is an attorney and environmental engineer with 35 years of experience in the legal, institutional and financial aspects of water, wastewater, biosolids and hazardous waste projects and services.

Gallagher became involved with design-build and other forms of alternative project delivery in the early 1980s with the privately-financed Scottsdale, Ariz. design-build-own-operate water treatment plant. Since then, he has participated in numerous high-profile water design-build projects in the United States and internationally. Gallagher previously served as WDBC?s vice president and secretary in 2012 and as an alternate board member from 2006 to 2012.

?This will be another exciting year for the WDBC?s growing influence on the use of best practices in the water design-build industry, Gallagher said. ?I am both pleased and privileged to serve the organization in this important role. I am very proud to be associated with this valuable organization that focuses on education and communication with municipal owners about the value of design-build project delivery and how to implement it.?

After months of behind the scenes work, the new WDBC website is now live and can be viewed at www.waterdesignbuild.org.
