Echologics founder Bracken to leave company

Marc Bracken, vice president and general manager of Echologics, a Mueller Technologies company and provider of leak detection and condition assessment technology for water utilities, has announced he is leaving the company he started to pursue a new opportunity.

“After founding Echologics 15 years ago, and eight years after being acquired by Mueller Water Products, it is with mixed emotions that I am announcing that I am leaving Echologics to become CEO of Mobiltex Data,” Bracken announced in a recent LinkedIn post.

Bracken formed Mississauga, Canada-based Echologics in 2003 and helped commercialize an acoustic leak detection system for PVC pipes as a joint venture with the National Research Council of Canada. At the time, it was Bracken’s first venture into the world of water and sewer infrastructure. Under his leadership, the company has since grown to be a global player in the condition assessment and leak detection market.

In 2011, the company was acquired by Mueller Co., and has worked with some of the largest public and private utilities in the United States including the Las Vegas Valley Water District, the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, American Water and many others. Bracken now has more than 18 years of experience in acoustical and vibration engineering, and 11 years of management experience in the water industry.

“I am incredibly proud of my time at Echologics, what my team has accomplished, and the technologies we have developed,” he added. “These are technologies that are changing the way utilities manage their water pipelines. I am also very proud of the growth we achieved as part of the Mueller family. I can honestly say that there isn’t a better group of people to work with in the industry.”
