EBA Engineering Names Press GIS Lead

William J. Press, GISP, has joined EBA Engineering, Inc. (EBA) as the company?s GIS technical lead. He will provide GIS expertise for water systems projects and help enhance the company?s GIS and asset management services across all sectors.

Press will support EBA?s work on DC Water?s asset management program, focusing on building a sustainable geospatial asset register for the utility?s water, sewer and stormwater pipeline networks that will be synchronized with its computerized maintenance management systems. He will also provide recommendations on the GIS system design so it aligns with industry-standard best practices.

With a bachelor?s degree in geography from the University of Maryland and a master?s in geography from the University of Massachusetts, Press brings extensive experience on enterprise-level GIS implementations for federal agencies, transportation departments and large utilities.

?Bill possesses both an in-depth knowledge of data visualization solutions and broad experience with the full suite of Esri commercial software and open source GIS solutions,? says EBA President Rizwan Siddiqi, P.E.

Prior to joining EBA, Press managed the on-site GIS team building the National Weather Service?s new, enterprise-level geospatial infrastructure; served as the GIS technical lead on the IT team supporting Public Service Electric and Gas Company?s GIS applications and databases; was the lead GIS Systems Engineer on a cross-functional product delivery and development team supporting web mapping for the U.S. Treasury; and served as the GeoBase project lead supporting enterprise GIS implementation within the Air National Guard’s Installations and Mission Support Directorate.
