The UIM Asset Management Conference was held at the Hilton Arlington Nov. 28-29 and attracted 85 participants from across the country. The meeting was co-located with the Buried Asset Management Institute-International (BAMI-I) annual Board of Directors meeting, under the direction of Dr. Tom Iseley of IUPUI.
The UIM Conference ? with the theme ?Resilient and Sustainable Infrastructure? ? was planned in conjunction with Dr. Sunil Sinha of Virginia Tech. Following the BAMI-I meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 28, the UIM Conference began with a panel discussion that featured representatives from DC Water, the City of Baltimore, Baltimore County, the Town of Blacksburg (Va.) and United Water. The panel was moderated by Michael Deane, executive director of the National Association of Water Companies.
Following the panel discussion there was a Clean Water Reception hosted by Benjamin Media and the Clean Water Council. Wednesday, Nov. 30 featured the full slate of speakers who explored research and initiatives, utility perspectives, and funding, legislative and financing issues.
The conference features high level attendees that include municipal engineers, consulting engineers, federal government, academia, private-sector utilities and more. The conferences are well known for discussion and networking.
