The Plastics Pipe Institute (PPI) held its semi-annual meeting Oct. 14-17 in Southlake, Texas ? a suburb of Dallas. More than 200 people were in attendance for the meeting, which was held at the Hilton Southlake Town Square facility.
The conference included separate meetings of the PPI?s active divisions ? Building & Construction, Conduit, Municipal & Industrial, Corrugated Pipe and the newly named Energy Piping Systems Division.
Guest speakers for the meeting included Eben Wyman of Wyman Associates, who discussed the importance of government affairs initiatives by professional trade associations. Also presenting was Bernie Krzys, President & Publisher of Benjamin Media, the publisher of UIM and Trenchless Technology. Krzys discussed the value of marketing in an engineering world. Additionally, Katheryn Malusky from the National Transportation Product Evaluation Program addressed the Corrugated Pipe Division and provided updates on AASHTO?s National Transportation Product Evaluations Programs for HDPE and PVC pipe, as well as their plans for reinforced concrete pipe.
Tony Radoszewski, PPI Executive Director, spearheaded all of the meeting activities. The PPI?s 2013 annual meeting will be held May 5-8 in St. Pete Beach, Fla., while the 2013 semi-annual meeting will be held Sept. 29 ? Oct. 2 in Charlotte, S.C.?
