Luis Casado, P.E., has been named director of Gannett Fleming’s Water Business Line. In this role, Casado will oversee the operations and strategic growth of Gannett Fleming’s water practice and will continue to hold the positions of southeast region director and senior vice president.

“Luis brings decades of experience on complex infrastructure projects, a passion for excellence, and a deep understanding of emerging technologies,” said Robert Scaer, P.E., Gannett Fleming chairman and CEO. “In just one year with the firm, Luis’s highly collaborative approach and leadership expertise has propelled and positioned our Water Business Line for substantial growth in the future.”

Casado has valued being part of a global firm with local expertise and has embraced Gannett Fleming’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. He is confident that best-in-class solutions come from a team comprised of a variety of backgrounds and points of view. He supports Connected Women at Gannett Fleming and launched an internship program in the southeast to encourage the next generation of engineers. A recognized industry thought leader, Casado recently co-authored “Examining Common Barriers to Smart City Implementation” in Water Finance & Management magazine.

“My transition to Water Business Line director isn’t about who is in charge. It is about a more than 100-year-old firm recommitting itself to the people we serve,” Casado said. “We are partnering with clients at the local level to solve current water supply and quality issues with leading-edge, smart technology so that future generations have ample access to the highest quality water.”

Casado earned his bachelor’s and master’s in civil engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
