On April 21, The American Water Works Association (AWWA) and Association of State Drinking Water Administrators (ASDWA) have developed a framework that will assist water systems evaluate PFAS challenges and compliance options.
The framework, called PFAS Treatment Evaluation: Framework for Approaching Permit Plan Approval was developed by AWWA and ASDWA members in collaboration with Black & Veatch. The framework compiles disparate science about PFAS treatment and best practices for piloting treatment to inform the drinking water sector on the best practices for streamlining the permit approval process.
