A new analysis published by the American Water Works Association (AWWA) estimates 6.1 million lead service lines remain in U.S. communities, suggesting progress in lead service line removal over the past two decades but indicating an estimated $30 billion challenge remains.

According to Fitch Ratings, lawsuits filed against the City of Flint, Mich., and the City of Chicago could have a broad, long-term impact on the entire U.S. water sector.
