The Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies (AMWA), the organization uniting the nation’s largest publicly owned drinking water systems, will host its annual Executive Management Conference Oct. 16-19 in Scottsdale, Ariz.
This unique event is designed to meet the particular challenges of top drinking water executives, drawing on an annual survey of member interests to create the agenda. Panels and presentations on the 2016 program will include restoring customer confidence, technology trends, successful community engagement, alternative rate structures and cybersecurity management, among many others. The sessions will feature authoritative presenters who speak from front-line experience.
AMWA member utilities are typically represented at the conference by their general managers and CEOs, so many opportunities are built into the program for participants to network with colleagues and share insights. This annual management conference never fails to provide fresh perspectives and proven approaches to the toughest management concerns.
Notable water system achievement will be recognized at AMWA’s annual awards ceremonies during the Executive Management Conference. Exemplary water utilities will be honored with Gold Awards for Exceptional Utility Performance, Platinum Awards for Utility Excellence or Sustainable Water Utility Management Awards.
The program rounds out with a special opportunity for participants to visit to the headquarters of the Central Arizona Project (CAP), tour CAP’s Lake Pleasant storage reservoir and view key facilities including the New Waddell Dam, Waddell Pumping Generating Plant and Waddell Canal.
AMWA’s 2016 Executive Management Conference will be held at the Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch, a welcoming oasis in the Sonoran Desert. Registration is open to any public water or wastewater utility and to private firms that are AMWA subscribers. For more information about the conference, visit the event website.
