American Water launches new customer service portal

American Water recently announced it has completed the launch of a new customer service portal called My Account for all of its regulated water and wastewater customers across its service territories.

According to American Water, customers are now able to more easily access their accounts through the newly developed, mobile-friendly account management site. American Water’s My Account portal allows customers to effortlessly make payments, view water usage history and receive alert notifications from any location, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

“At American Water, we keep life flowing — not just by providing safe, clean water, but also by being focused on giving our customers convenient access to information and the responsive, personal service that they expect and deserve—every day, at any time,” said Deb Degillio, chief customer officer. “We launched this new platform in direct response to feedback from our customers, who tell us they want to more efficiently manage their accounts online.”

The My Account portal,, gives customers the ability to complete some of the most common functions associated with their accounts, from checking balances and paying bills to reviewing past water usage and scheduling appointments for some service items.

Through the portal, customers can also enroll in the company’s free paperless billing program, as well as schedule automatic payments, also called Auto Pay. These efforts help customers save postage and paper costs and be better stewards of the environment. The portal will continue to be enhanced and refined to improve the customer experience.
