Stantec has announced Kari Shively has been appointed to oversee the company’s North American water business effective Oct. 1.
Shively’s experience includes more than 33 years in the water sector, and a strong track record of leading complex, multidisciplinary teams that address growing demands on water infrastructure and water resources.
“Water is at the heart of every community. Whether securing a new supply, creating energy from waste streams, or advancing leading practices in water reuse, we help communities steward one of their most essential resources,” said Shively.

Stantec’s water team provides planning, engineering, design, and advisory services to help communities and industries address water supply, treatment, wastewater, stormwater, flooding and resilience challenges.
Shively has held leadership roles within Stantec spanning project management, business development and growth, and operations. In her new role as business unit leader for water, she will direct 2,500 employees with a net revenue target of $690 million ($970 million Canadian).
