Garney welcomes new VP of financial planning

Austin

Garney recently named Anastasia Austin its vice president of financial planning, analysis and treasury.

Bringing more than two decades of progressive leadership experience in finance, Austin will continue growing Garney’s core functions in forecasting, corporate budgeting, and cash flow planning, reporting directly to Garney’s chief financial officer.

Austin has overseen finance and revenue management functions for multi-billion-dollar business segments — including the key leadership role she played in the $31B Canadian Pacific-Kansas City Southern merger — and boasts a robust background in capital strategy, financial operation planning, and M&A. Garney said Austin will provide insight to executive leadership, evaluate opportunities, risks, investment opportunities and growth strategies.

“Anastasia brings a wealth of financial acumen to Garney and will help modernize and strengthen our financial structure, positioning us for sustained and continued growth into the future,” said Dan Kling, chief financial officer, Garney.

Garney said Austin will be tasked with building and overseeing a team dedicated to ensuring the firm continues and sustains its profitable growth, maintains financial stewardship for over 3,000 employees, and aligns with the company’s core values and mission.

“Garney’s established position as one of the top contractors in the water and wastewater industry provides a unique opportunity to continue developing and striving for meteoric growth,” said Austin. “I’m thrilled to be part of a team that’s doing such important work for communities across the country while building a sustainable future for us all.”

Austin’s first day with the firm was July 22 and she is based in Garney’s Kansas City headquarters.
