Oldcastle Infrastructure acquires Axius Water

XPV Water Partners has announced the closing of the sale of Axius Water to Oldcastle Infrastructure.

Since forming Axius in 2019, XPV and leading global investment firm KKR worked alongside management to build the company into a global provider of solutions addressing increasingly complex water quality and regulatory challenges. The Axius Water platform has grown through targeted acquisitions and operational integration into a differentiated business serving municipal and industrial customers worldwide.

“Axius Water is a clear example of how specialized sector expertise, aligned capital, and strong leadership can come together to build a scaled platform in a critical area of water infrastructure,” said David Henderson, Managing Partner, XPV Water Partners. “Our close collaboration with KKR and the Axius team allowed us to consolidate a fragmented segment, invest behind differentiated capabilities, and accelerate growth globally. We believe Oldcastle is uniquely positioned to take that platform even further.”

Chris McIntire, CEO, Axius Water, added: “With the support of XPV and KKR, we built Axius into a global platform focused on high-performance water quality solutions. Joining Oldcastle gives us the scale and resources to expand our reach, invest further in innovation, and continue helping our customers meet increasingly complex regulatory and operational demands.”

The acquisition is expected to bolster Oldcastle Infrastructure’s portfolio by integrating Axius’ advanced secondary wastewater treatment and nutrient removal technology platform into its business.
