2022 Water Finance Conference to convene utility leaders, water finance professionals

Registration is open for 8th annual event in Washington, D.C.

The agenda for the 2022 Water Finance Conference will highlight a number of current issues impacting the capital planning of water/wastewater systems in the United States including Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act fund distribution, water pricing and affordability, and regulatory issues affecting utilities.

The Water Finance Conference – now in its eighth year – will feature presentations, panel discussions and networking all in the heart of environmental policymaking in Washington, D.C., Aug. 17-18 at the Hilton Washington DC Capitol Hill.

Day 1 on Aug. 17 will cover a number of topics around federal investment in water infrastructure systems, such as fund allocation and distribution from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (also called Bipartisan Infrastructure Law), American Rescue Plan, SRF funding and other sources and the biggest challenges and initiatives for local utility systems.

An afternoon session will cover the “bread and butter” topics of the Water Finance Conference including water pricing, affordability, revenue and cash reserves, and innovative approaches to rate setting amid current challenges like inflation. The day will conclude with an evening reception.

Day 2, Aug. 18, will delve into regulatory and water quality issues, a top issue in the industry, exploring financing amid evolving regulation for water quality issues (Lead and Copper Rule, PFAS, etc.), as well as addressing current water sector challenges through finance and technology.
