2021 Water Finance Conference moves to virtual format

The Water Finance Conference is again shifting to a virtual format for 2021. The seventh annual event, which exclusively covers financing in the U.S. water utility sector, was originally scheduled for Aug. 18-19 in Washington, D.C.

With lockdowns and restrictions beginning to ease, conference organizers had been hoping to return the event to the regular in-person format. But due to ongoing budgetary and travel limitations across the industry, organizers have decided to go virtual to increase accessibility for utility and municipal attendees.

The event will now present virtual sessions on August 10, 12, 17 and 19.

The Water Finance Conference caters to executive-level water utility professionals, including directors, general managers, superintendents, CEOs, CFOs and finance managers. Content is also geared toward consultants, financial advisors, attorneys and service providers involved in the financing of water, wastewater and stormwater systems.

The event is hosted annually by the journal Water Finance & Management, published by Benjamin Media, and has been presented in partnership with the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA), representing public wastewater and stormwater agencies of all sizes nationwide.

The 2021 virtual conference will cover a range of topics in the water finance realm, such as rate setting and affordability, budgeting and financial planning, funding federal and state mandates, partnerships and consolidation, and bosting revenue through digital technology adoption.

Virtual attendees will have the opportunity to engage with presenters, panelists, other attendees and conference sponsors, as well as submit questions throughout the sessions. CEUs will be available for an additional cost.

About the Water Finance Conference

The Water Finance Conference has been growing in popularity at a steady clip since its establishment in 2015. It is the only conference in the U.S. water utility sector that exclusively covers financing. The event has been supported by leading industry associations that represent public utilities, such as the National Association of Clean Water Agencies, a past main event sponsor and partner.

Participants of the Water Finance Conference generally include a mix of water/wastewater utility CFOs, city and county finance managers, current and former mayors and city councilmembers, municipal advisors in the water sector, as well as other consultants and service providers who have a vested interest in the funding of water infrastructure in the United States.
