
As part of the 2023 Water Finance Conference, Aug. 8-9 in Cleveland, Ohio, attendees will have the opportunity to tour Cleveland Water's Garrett A. Morgan Water Treatment Plant and visit the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District's (NEORSD) nearby Superior Avenue Pump Station.
Cleveland Water’s Garrett A. Morgan Water Treatment Plant has been in operation for more than a century. The plant is named after Cleveland inventor Garrett A. Morgan whose gas mask invention was used to rescue miners trapped in the tunnel during a water intake extension in the early 1900s. During more than 100 years of operation, the plant has undergone multiple rehabilitation projects to ensure that it remains a viable, reliable 150 million gallon per day drinking water treatment facility
