When you think about examples of great innovation, it’s easy to think about things like modern technology. The smart phone. Steve Jobs. A bold vision to change the status quo with a groundbreaking product or service. In the water/wastewater utility sector, that same kind of long-term, innovative vision for groundbreaking projects also occurs – only this time matters of public health, regional sustainability and the environment are all on the line.

Also I have suggested to Michael Polawski having the York River Group Sierra Club who meets at Sandy Bottom Nature Park in Hampton nominated the Waterfront Trails at Riverview Farm Park for the DEQ Governors Environmental Excellence Award. This would bring all the community parties city, and maybe you closer together for working on the trails. The only other thing I also suggested to Michael Poplawski that a Historical Timeline might be added to the trails by Newport News Park for Warwick Town. The Machicomoco State Park in Gloucester, VA has a really good historical Timeline for the Native American who lived there back in Colonial Virginia. I asked Michael Poplawski, Director of Newport News Parks to have Citizens for Riverview Farm Parks Board recommend this idea for the trails, or a path that might lead to a Visitor Center at the park. So it will be through Newport News Park to these ideas.
